How do we communicate with Mauritius?
A
Access can be provided through your existing remote access facilities. Alternatively, a Virtual Private Network between your system and that of Odyssey can be established. If your IT people require, expertise with experience of the issues relating to linking up with Odyssey is available.

How is connectivity with Mauritius achieved?
A
The link is via a modern submarine fibre optic connection between Europe, Africa and Far East.The speed of transmission is in the effect faster than via satellite systems as the distance for the data to travel is much shorter than via the Geostationary satellites placed 37,000 km above the Earth.

Who would help us set-up and provide on-going support?
A
Odyssey can introduce local professionals experienced with the establishment and support issues.

How long would the set up process take?
A
It would depend on the extent/nature of your particular firm's requirements.

How much would the service cost?
A
This will depend on your exisitng systems. There are relatively low IT costs to establish the service and an element of staff involvement for both the nominated link co-ordinator and any back-up staff. Soon the cost savings benefits will be obvious.

How secure/confidential is the service?
A
It is as secure/confidential as your existing system. You will be using an encrypted and authenticated data link, dealing with a well regulated, professional organisation.

Can the client names remain confidential and not be visible to Mauritius?
A
Yes. Odyssey have existing clients in Switzerland who are, by law, not permitted to divulge client names. The same system can be established by you if required.

Would much scanning in of non-digital input be required , e.g. invoices, correspondence, fee notes?
A

It all depends on what is already stored in your systems, i.e. how paperless your office is already etc.

Can Odyssey work with all accounting systems?
A
Yes. As experienced accountants/auditors they are accustomed to any system based on traditional double entry book keeping.

Are they any volume restrictions?
A
No.

How often will we be billed?
A
Typically monthly or quarterly (or by job for special cases). They are fairly flexible.

Will staff need to visit Mauritius?
A

Not necessarily, especially as senior staff from Odyssey are in Europe on a regular basis.
